Example : application flower called jellyfish with satin ribbon size 2.5 cm (1") with 30 folds
2.5x2x30 = 150 cm needed in length (one flower)
If 1 roll of satin ribbon has length 18 m or 1800 cm then we can get 12 aplication flowers
Assuming the price of 1 roll = Rp 10,000 means 12 pcs flower spent :
10,000 + glue + electric + additional things
If you make 1 gross flower (144 pcs) which is spent 12 rolls of tape/ribbon it means you spent money Rp. 120,000 (price of ribbon only)
So, if anyone sells 300,000 for one gross means Rp 300,000 - Rp 120,000 = Rp 180,000, divide it with 144 pcs = Rp 1,250 only (that's your payment for every single piece of flower)
Is it enough? Is it good payment? Well lets see calculation below :
If average time needed to make one flower is 15 minutes (some people spent 30 minutes) then its means 15x144 pcs = 2160 minutes : 60 minutes = 36 hours
How much time effective work in a day? Assumed 6 hours, then you need 6 days to finish 1 gross 30 folds jellyfish flower and wages per piece only Rp 1,250 per pc, or 6 hours working 24 x Rp 1,250 = Rp 30,000 a day 😩 ($ 2 / day)
My question ... will you be paid Rp 30,000/$2 for a 6 hours job?

Let's count again for another case
Meteor 2 layers of tape 2x1 meter = 2 meters means with 1 roll ribbon 18 meters only can get 9 pcs... For 1 gross(144 pcs) needs 16 rolls of ribbon.
Calculate by yourself !
That's only a price of ribbon and ur time payment.
How about abandoned husband and children
How about the price of your healthy?
Still many other things you should think and count before decide how much you will sell your product.

Continued Lesson CALCULATING ....
If we add more accesories to the jellyfish flower such as : pin, artificial plastic halfpearl, rhinestone and other decorated accesories (assume all need extra Rp 5,000 / pc) then we sell it Rp 15,000 / pc
so total 1 roll ribbon plus other accesories (10.000+5000)x12) = Rp 70,000 / dozen
if you sell it a dozen 12 pcs x Rp 15,000 = Rp 180,000- Rp 70,000 = Rp 110,000
So by this calcuation your wage for each flower Rp 110,000 / 12 = Rp 9,000
For example the time required for finishing need 1 hour then we produce 20 pcs within 6 hours then our profit 9000x20 = Rp 180,000 (around $12 a day)
Although it may look little amount from ordered side but calculated from any side sell a little but getting bigger profit for only several days, equal to the profit orders grosses a month ... of course its much more efficient
The choice is now on us ... chasing grosses sales but little profit? Or pursuing dozens of sales but time for others is still available widely and even can work for other task too
Some people argue : what if its sustenance in the application? its ok but please be realistic to put the pricefor your product
Some others argue : Im not chasing a lot of profits but important is to get many order .. upppssss... think again ... we run out time just to sit for hours for small profit ? Run out of our precious time with family also for nothing? Our family more deserve to get more attention rather than such small profit. soo once again ...
